On April 18, the seven ladies of Sigma’s newly initiated Phi class introduced themselves to the Penn Greek community in our chapter’s first ever probate!
A probate is a showcase ceremony for the newest members of a Greek organization. The Phi’s performance included stepping, strolling, acknowledging their big sisters, the announcement of the line name and their individual nicknames. Probates are an old tradition deeply ingrained in fraternities and sororities of the multicultural Greek community.
Various members of MGC came out to support Sigma, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their presence!
Our ladies spent a lot of time preparing for their probate – practicing their step, choreographing their stroll, and memorizing Sigma’s traditions. The ceremony represented a culmination of their journey to become members of Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority Incorporated. We’re so proud of them!
