Since Sigma’s founding in 2004, our sorority has participated in numerous campus events, including SPEC Fall Fest, Asian Pacific American Heritage Week Extravaganza, “Big Asian” contest, Japan Student Association’s Iron Chef competition, Penn Consortium of Undergraduate Women’s annual Women’s Week, Take Back the Night, and more. The fanatic blogger behind AngryAsianMan.com will be coming to Penn to speak about stereotypes and issues that Asian Americans face in America’s world of popular culture, mass media and in our everyday lives. From the damaging stereotypes of the Asian whiz kid to the kung-fu fighting foreigners, Phil will be speaking about the highs and lows of the Asian American history, both on screen and off. In light of the recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami, Sigma Psi Zeta Sorority has compiled musical tracks from eight of your favorite a cappella groups at Penn into Music CDs that you can enjoy, while your purchase goes directly to aid the Japanese victims in the world’s costliest natural disaster in history. Featuring prestigious performing groups such as Penn Masala, PennYo, Off the Beats and Penn Counterparts among others, our CDs will be sold for $10 while stocks last! All proceeds from your purchase will go directly to Penn Japan Relief Fund. |
